THE IMPORTANCE OF BODYWORK AND HOW IT BENEFITS YOU
Do you feel like you're carrying the world on your shoulders?
Massage alleviates undetected stress. Knots in the muscle tissue create
pockets of tension throughout your body. This blocks vital energy,
reduces circulation and glandular function, and leaves you feeling pain
and/or fatigue.
CIRCULATION
The stimulation, circulation and relaxation you receive from Body
Harmony bodywork accelerates blood flow throughout your body, bringing
more nutrients and oxygen to organs and muscles. It helps to release
built up toxins so that the body can process and evacuate, as well as
restore itself and rebuild new tissue.
ORGANS
The stimulation, circulation and relaxation you receive from Body
Harmony bodywork soothes nerves and causes blood vessels to dilate
which increases the blood flow. This creates healing. Most internal
organs are supplied by nerves, which branch at the spinal cord. It is
important for your body’s infrastructure (bones and muscle) to be in
line before any type of bodywork. A Chiropractic adjustment before your
session is recommended. Dr. Greener is one of the best!
For Centuries, the Chinese have mapped non-cellular, liquid freeways
throughout the body called “meridians”. These are not fully understood,
but recognized as “energy flows”. Acupressure techniques were developed
to open blockages to these energy flows.
Your feet provide easy access to meridians - thus Reflexology techniques are often used during a massage.
PRESSURE OR TRIGGER POINTS
Acupuncture points along meridians trigger the nervous system to send
messages to the brain, releasing tension and pain. Ask Dr. Greener or
Valerie for the names of professional people in our area who specialize
in Acupressure, deep tissue massage, and Reflexology techniques. All of
these are very important ways to regain your health and wellbeing.
FLUID RELEASE
Lactic and carbonic acids are waste products of muscle activity. They
can cause fatigue, muscle soreness, and even cramps. Lactic acid, the
prime irritant, is formed when glycogen is burned during exercise.
Build up of lactic acid is also connected with red meat and chemical
additives in food. The stimulation, circulation and relaxation you
receive from Body Harmony bodywork stimulates the metabolic process to
speed the flow of lactic acid throughout the body's complex lymph
system, to either be released or reconverted into sugar.
SKIN
Skin is living tissue, and as it ages, it goes through a replacement
cycle. The dead cells shed naturally over a period of time, but not
completely, therefore a build-up can result. This can form dull, ashy
patches on the skin. To restore the skin's appearance, you need to
manually remove the dead cells (exfoliation). If the right oil
substance and scrubbing element is used in massage, it can help the
skin become more soft & supple as well as accelerate the skins
ability to receive oxygen. During your Body Harmony Session this
exfoliation process is accomplished using our pure - raw African Shea
Butter and unrefined Dead Sea Salts from Israel. A Body Harmony skin
exfoliation is recommended once a month.
OUR VALUABLE BODIES
Here at Body Harmony Center, we care about what we put on our bodies,
as well as into our bodies. In your session, what we use is 100%
natural, and as close to “raw, from the source” as we can get. As a
result, your body’s pores open so that it can drink deep and lavish
itself on 6 to 8 ounces of warm, melted Shea Butter and an infusion of trace minerals from the richest trace mineral content in the world, the Dead Sea. All of this leaves you with a sense of well-being, and the peace in
knowing you fed your body an actual meal, from the outside - in.
